Back in the 70s when it first came out there was a French vinyl lp issued but it has never been released on cd.

The music is awesome! It's by Terry Riley. There is a cd on the record label Elision Fields that just came out. It's paired with another of his soundtracks.

On a lark just looking around the import bins in the record store for something instrumental and different, back in 1978 I bought the soundtrack LP as a French import. It was my very first Terry Riley album-I had never heard of him before, and remains my very favorite of all his works to this day. And Riley is still active and composing. A great modern music composer. However, he no longer uses the organ, which was his primary instrument at this time. In fact the soundtrack is my very favorite electric organ music ever-he gets so many different timbres out of the instrument you would think he was using a synthesizer. H also does a bit of voice and saxophone playing, which is remarkable as well. I actually burned my old LP copy to CD because I love it so much, as was THRILLED when it finally was released on CD a few years ago. I only came to finally buy the video of the movie out of my love of the soundtrack, but I now love the movie as well, and the music fits it perfectly. I would easily pick this soundtrack as one of my top 10 favorite albums ever of any genre, including jazz, classical and modern music.
