British TV screening

The last time Killdozer came on in the UK was back in 1988. It was a daytime movie on ITV on a Bank Holiday Monday. I remember watching the first 15 or so minutes when that piece of rock comes to Earth and when Robert Urich is incinerated by the rays which it emits. That really freaked me out, especially when it shows Urich all burned up and on his deathbed. I was 9 years old at the time.

I couldn't see all of it, though, because I think we had to go to someone's house.

I didn't say that the bulldozer emitted any rays. I remember the scene when the bulldozer strikes the rock. Rather than there being any rays, I guess it's that blue glow which kills Robert Urich. I did definitely watch this part of the film back in '88.

I'd first seen this movie on U.K. TV during a bank Holiday period of '75 - i'd first got into this by reading a comic story adaptation of it , included in the PLANET OF THE APES U.K. comic publication earlier that same year - very well-drawn,i remembered & the story had explained from the beginning on how The KILLDOZER became to be...soon after i'd read it..the TV Movie showed on UK TV...'88, i believe , was the last time i'd seen it on TV & had been looking for it ever since...

I remember watching this on tv when I was a kid. It was one of those ABC movies of the week or something like that. They had really cool made for tv movies back then IMO, like this, Trilogy of Terror, Gargoyls, etc. etc. Sure they're all maga cheesy but they were fun.

I have just watched it!

I have a mountain of old VHS tapes in a cupboad under the stairs, which I am going through before throwing away. This movie was the second on a tape, and a great watch.

Really enjoyed it - they don't make 'em like that anymore!

Anyone want the tape?

I remember watching Killdozer on the television. Was definitely aired in the 80s here in England.

I recall my dad killing himself laughing, whilst it scared ten colours of $hit out of me as a 7 year old.

Aye. I too watched it at the tender age of 8 in the UK. Scared the crap outta me. Big bulldozers still generate the smallest of shivers down my back, all these years later.

First shown on British TV in 1975. I watched it when I was 7 or 8 years old (birthday in August, so can't remember at what time of year it was shown). It frightened the life out of me. There was still a lot of colliery waste tips being moved or made safe at the time. Seeing bulldozers around was quite common. This film made me terrified of them. Even now at 49 years old, seeing one of these still sends a childhood shiver through me.
