Hi! I have just seen that all the movies can be rented on screenselect.
Because i've only seen shogun assassin, i would definitely like to see the originals.

Is there any particular order in which the movies should be seen?
(I assume the 1973 and 1974 films are the last ones, but what about the other four?)

Thanks a lot,

Joao

reply

Forget it.
I found it on the plot outlines of the films.

Thanks anyway,

Joao

Only get the reigon 1 versions(from amazon.com), as they are in anomorphic widescreen, and excellent transfers, all other reigons are pretty crap versions (4:3), & bad transfers.

reply

Cheaper on dvdboxoffice.com, plus free shipping to the UK.

reply

hahahhahah, this topic has spanned for three years! 2003 - 2004 - 2005!

reply

legmogler_2005 I was gonna say that. Its been going as long as that one on the seven samurai board where the guy said the films fake and he knows because he's a modern day samurai. F'in Retard. Anyway I've just ordered the last 16 lone wolf and cub books and the DVD box set so I can't wait to get them all baby!

But do you have the Lone Wolf and Cub figure from Dark Horse? Comes complete with heavy metal sword, baby cart with weapons, and Diagaro to boot. I have it and it is most prized out of my collection. I think you can get Retsudo as well. I will not tell you how much i paid for it as it will only make you cry.

Now this thread enters its fourth year. Going 2003-2004-2005-2006! Lets try and keep this thread going

Its spanned five years! Lets keep it going, maybe it can last six?

Anyway, I've already bought The Sword of Vengeance, and each month I will buy a different film until I own them all.
I absolutely love these films though, something about them just makes them so good to watch again and again.

Here in Australia, Eastern Eye released all 6 of them in a box set, of which I am a proud owner. I'm glad I snapped it up when I did.

reply

Yeah! So? I've got them all, like I get everything I want, weather I want it or not. I got them today, at the hotel, the Four Seasons.

reply

Yep I ordered them off ebay finally watched the original 6, now about to watch the remake Shogun Assassin.

Really enjoyed the 6 they are some great foreign films, and you could see where Tarantino got his ideas from! The actor playing Ito is brilliant and the action scenes are brilliant and unique!
