I am from England and I have shown this film to many friends over the years and everyone loves it, in fact, you are the only person I have ever come across who had a negative comment for this and other so called "communist" Czech films.

I have a funny feeling, the films of the great Czech director Václav Vorlícek will be remembered long after your negative criticisms are forgotten.
