Is it coming on ABC this year?

I'm glad somebody posted this. I've been looking for it on the tv listings and I don't see it listed. :( The Peanuts specials are really the only reason I watch ABC so I hope they plan on showing it sometime at least.

I do not understand why ABC even bothers to renew the broadcasting rights to the Peanuts specials. How hard would it be to, at the very least, fit this into Saturday morning cartoons?

There are so many specials that have not been aired in decades. The amount of Peanuts content is definitely significant enough to warrant some airtime somewhere. It is true that some are not good, but on the whole, a cable network would be way more suitable for these. I know that Hallmark Channel is huge into Christmas specials, and it is likely to get both Metlife and Hallmark cards as marketing partners. I do not know about other holidays though. A Charlie Brown Christmas is probably way too competitive and expensive for Hallmark channel.


Outside of the low end Hallmark Channel, I cannot think of a great all around fit on cable at the moment, but almost any of them could easily make room for the holiday specials. I just now realise that there is really no channel left for mid range family entertainment. I am not certain there ever existed a reasonable compromise, fit for the whole family.
