Moral of the Story (spoilers)

Never trust a mutant baby's father to kill said mutant baby. He may say he wants to, but he's lying. Or hormonal. You'll end up on the receiving end of killer baby catch. Just don't trust him, OK?

Also- How was the wife up and moving so soon (ever) after the delivery of that thing? Did you see the claws on it? They were gigantic.

He did wound the baby, which was more than the cops did most of the movie. Also, by bringing into the mass of cops, unintentionally allowing them to kill said baby.

Claws shmaws. Women were tougher back then.

Yeah, unintentionally!

I still say don't trust him. The cops at the school were correct to doubt his intentions.

Also- Was I right when I heard the cop at the end say he was taking the mutant-baby-daddy home? Yes, he's been through a great deal but you would think he'd be facing a few charges for the baby throwing incident. At the very least manslaughter. Maybe assault with a deadly baby? Child endangering? Maybe not that one as the whole point of the mission was to kill the fanged little bugger, but still, the law is the law.

RE claw-delivery: You would think delivery of a clawed baby would be reason for C-section. The ultra-sound techs should have noticed the claws and prepared accordingly: "Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Davies, you're going to have a boy...with claws!"

Did they even have prenatal ultrasounds back in the 70's? I thought that came around in the 80's. I remember an episode of All in the Family when Mike and Gloria were going to have a baby they had some type of mystical woman using a pendulum to predict the sex of the baby. It makes me think that ultrasound either weren't available or common at the time.

The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.

reply

Didn't know that! Thanks for the clarification. Obstetrics has come a long way since 1974. We can now properly plan for a mutant baby birth. C-sections and armed police on hand, ready to go!
