It's interesting that movies like these are carefully masked with an element of disbelief. Men in Black is another film that is presented as fantasy, yet contains so much truth.

at the opening of the DVD it is clearly stated that this is a mix-match of variuos stories about concentration camps all put into one. So no, not a true story. But yes, Nazis did experiment on human beings, a few camps are famous for this.
