Peter Fonda

Through the years I've heard several interviews with Peter Fonda. Usually there's talk about the 60's , his family, his acting, but when conversation gets to the topic of directing, Fonda never mentiones "Idaho Transfer". To me this film always appeared accomplished and compelling..That is why I'm always puzzled by Fonda's reluctance to discuss that particular movie..Is he ashamed of it ? Does he consider that film a failure?
Any thoughts? Anyone ever heard Fonda mention the film?

reply

Apparently he does an introduction to one of the VHS releases but I've never seen it.

...just saw this one for the first time...interesting Sci-Fi...Peter Fonda had to be stoned out of his gourd to make this which may be why he doesn't mention it in interviews etc...just a guess...

reply

He may well have been stoned while he made this, just as much of the audience was probably stoned while watching it, but I still think this is a decent film regardless of one's state of mind.

I'm not sure, but it was much better than I had anticipated...7/10 for me. Wish he had chosen to direct more films.
