A decent DVD?

The Netflix one is horrid. Bad transfer from a scratched print, at 4:3 no less. Love that part. Not even pan and scan, but just locked to slightly left of center, so that titles are cropped off, as well as who knows what action or scenery. Subs are also terrible.

Is there any such thing as a good version to be watched, for the English speaker preferably, but I'll live with just a good, widescreen transfer so we can see what's going on with the filming and appreciate that. There are widescreen versions on YouTube, but they also are a bit washed out, etc. so is there anything better hiding somewhere?

I have a Polart 2007 edition. It was not as bad as you described above but it was still left a lot to be desired.

I kinda doubt there will ever be a quality release of this film. It is pretty unknown (no reviews ... 133 ratings)... and it came from 1973 Poland (behind the curtain)

Now that the curtain has fallen ... how about a remake? It is a fascinating story.
