Hasnt anyone seen this movie???

Grew up with this one, definitley a horror movie fan must! Cheesey enough to become a cult classic, laughable in some parts, but definatley a fright for some. If nothing else, a great part of the sixties/seventies big hair horror flicks. A must see!

Oh yeah, I remember seeing this when I was a little kid in the 70's. The images of the zombie tossing the camera on the director's head and then carrying the girl into his grave have always been burned into my memory. I finally watched it on DVD last night a was pleasantly surprised. The bulk of the film is pretty dull and clumsy, but the zombie killing spree still sorta creeped me out.

Everytime I see a request for scaariest movies ever, I list this one. The final sequence, as the zombie carries the girl away- her dead body floating down the stream, the music, the lighting, etc.

Some of the scariest and creepiest stuff I've ever seen.

Low budget? Yeah. But why does it have to be big budget to be scary?

Still in my top 10 scariest ever.

if you consider this movie one of the scariest movies of all time, you've got to be one of the biggest wussest of all times. The bulk of the movie had nothing scary about it.. I think the scariest part of the movie was the very beginning. There are movies from the 60s that'll put this movie to shame..
nothing classic or scary about this film..It was terrible.

I was disappointed.

Just because you grew up watching something scary, doesn't mean that it can hold up to something scary.

Exorcist, Gates of Hell, the Shining, are movies that can still scare you till this day.

.....I LOVE THIS FILM !
.............great performances by John Ireland, Faith Domergue & Carradine
.............haunting music
..............great "film within a film" plot
..............good sense of humor in many scenes

Favorite Line:

I think one of my parants has seen this movie, seeing as my name is Eric Hartman.

I bought this movie because John Carradine is my favorite actor of all time. It's pretty slow and boring in the beginning, but gets really good toward the end. Some scenes were pretty laughable, but that only adds to the enjoyability. All in all, a 6 out of ten.

Oh yes. In fact, I am searching through the internet looking for movies like this one that had me afraid to turn the lights off when I was a kid (in the early 70s)!

I bought this last year on DVD at a store near my house and have been neglecting to watch it until last night. This movie is excellent. It was a pleasant suprise to see John Carridine and Faith Domergue in such a frightening film. It was a good thrill to watch this with all the lights out in all of its creepy glory. I am definently putting this on my scariest films list.

the ending of this film is very creepy.

I actually did see this hoot of a film some years ago on some late night show on a New York station, probably about three a.m. It was a total goof to see the great John Carridine play a mute character that can only ring a bell to state a point, during a town meeting scene. That station also used to air other low & no budget slasher fare, usually uncut for that hour of the morning when the wussies at the FCC were all home, dreaming of a time when Will Hayes controlled the film industry. I'm sure there are other who saw this film when it played out at the local drive in's & seedy run down inner city grindhouses, back in the day (by the way, have you seen Grindhouse yet?---it's a total goof!)

Wrong film. I believe Seamus2829 was thinking of "Silent Night, Bloody Night." http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070694/

it was ... forgettably meh.

Messy, but watchable.

Yeah, um, mmm, *cough* *cough*

I remembered this was on Elvira's Movie Macabre in the early 80's

i think it was well made & acted. a LOT of the *beep* that Carradine did in the 70's had nothing but bad acting, & everything else as well. i just didn't get the ending. they bring the dead back to life i got that. the only part i didn't get was how david beal was able to go back to being alive. & also

what the hell was those flashbacks about at the end anyways? it really had me confused at the very end.
