Mr Carney was just a revelation in his Oscar winning role

Mr Carney was always one great actor,,,he made several great films,,his best were HARRY AND TONTO-----THE LATE SHOW,,,he deservedly won for HARRY AND TONTO,HE IS FUNNY,TOUCHING,JUST A MAGNIFICENT PERFORMANCE,,The Late Show was even better Mr Carney should of won for this film,he didn't even get nominated he did with National Board of Revue,,and Tomlin was great as was Bill Macy who should of been Oscar Nominated for supporting actor,,he came in second in the NEW YORK FILM CRITICS AWARDS,,,this is just a great film noir in the old days of hollywood..it and Harry are in my top 25 all time fave films,,Late show is 4th and Harry is 17th...so glad Oscar was right on Harry sorry he missed the boat on Late Show
