Question about what someone wrote in 'Geographical Goofs'

Someone submitted this for a "goof":

"In the story, after arriving in Chicago, Harry rents a car and drives west. However, in reality he is actually driving east. I lived in the city (Geneva, IL) where they filmed Harry driving his rental car. Based on landmarks I could see, he drove along State St (Route 38) from the west side of the city, ending up at the Geneva Motel, which is on the far east end of the city."

I just watched the movie on Netflix today, and replayed the Chicago scenes again. The only vehicle Harry is ever seen driving is his blue Chevy -- He bought it from the fast-talking car dealer after leaving the bus, and gave it to Norman and Ginger after the pay phone scene.

Is the version on Netflix edited?

In the movie, it is never told where he got off the bus and bought the car. I would presume it would be in Ohio, since they then drive to Ft. Wayne, in. The filming locations between Newark airport and Sedona, are all filmed in and around Chicago, but stands in for ohio, ft Wayne, and the way west. Do you know where the used car scene was filmed? I found a paper from late 1973, that states it was filmed on e. Wilson in Batavia. I've been down the road recently, but too much has changed. This is one of my favorite movies of all time.
