It did not impress me much. I thought it was preachy and stagy, like a filmed play. I had the same problem with The Damned. I thought both films lacked the poetic and subtle atmosphere, which fascinated me in Death in Venice.

This film makes Visconti's "The Damned" look very exciting!

So true! I mean, Conversation Piece is virtually all set in the Prof's apartment and so little happens! Very poor work especially for Visconti.
