well it was certainly in the original theatrical movie -disgraceful that they cut it out....we don't live in a free country.

Are you referring to the montage with the politicians apparently lip-synching to a mumbling jazz singer? It's on the VHS, but I don't have the DVD yet.. it's one of my favorite bits, and I'd hate for that to have been cut out.

The montage of lip syncing guys is on the Netflix rental. I'm watching it now.
It's put between the Sex Olympics and the four leaf clover with Chevy Chase. That's weird that it's not on the new releases.

I don't know what copy you have, but it exists on my copy.

UPDATE: My copy has the Watergate hearing and the Sex Olympics, but not the opening theme spoofing 2001.

UPDATE #2: It looks like the 2001 spoof is there after all, and I just had to click on the play icon rather than just go to the chapters.

OMG, that piece better not be missing from the DVD! I, too, have a VHS copy and it's on there, pleeeeeze tell me they didn't cut it- I was going to order a DVD soon!

Sorry I'm late on this...............Yeah the Bums cut it out. It was my favorite bit in the whole movie. So much for freedom of speech!!!!

Damn!! That is seriously crappy.

I wonder why they cut it. The only reasons I can imagine would be a copyright issue, either with the song or the film footage.

Well it was not cut. Furthermore, if it had been cut, it would've been done by whatever production company owns the rights- not by government involvement you *beep* ignorant morons. I'd like to add that anyone who says we don't live in a free country should find a better one to live in- NOW!

It's not cut. It is about in the middle of the film. It is of the Democratic National Committee, and they overplay a jazzy tune to reflect the gibberish that is being said. Nothing political enough to cut. If they don't cut the penis doll, they certainly won't cut this G rated bit.

Do you know if there's a date on that DVD? Maybe it was cut out of an older version but left in a new version, or vice versa.

I viewed a Netflix copy of the film this weekend and the Watergate bit was included.

My on topic question is, why was Chevy's dialogue looped in the Geritan (sp?)
segment? The later barbershop bit had his own singing voice. Just wondering.

I just watched it (from Netflix) and didn't see the Watergate montage or the Sex Olympics, both of which I remember from late night cable airings. Could there be multiple DVD versions?

Back to the egg...I know it was in the VHS version. I couldn't believe it wasn't in the DVD release. Who knows, maby that re-re released it. I forgot about the sex olympics part. I'll have to watch my copy again to see if it was on there.

The DVD I bought has the entire, uncut version of the film.
Sex Olympics...Watergate...it's all there.

Perhaps the other version in question was made for all the big people who have to leave the room.

I purchased my copy on dvd when it was first released, & it has all the supposed cuts in the film. Also purchased a second copy later on & it is also unut.
