McGonagall - Harry Potter?
Do you think JK Rowling created her character name Professor McGonagall (played so well by Dame Maggie Smith) as a reference to this particular McGonagall?

The real McGonagall was and is very well known over there for his over the top (and often considered dreadful) poetry. So, it's possible she knew the name from the real poet (not likely from this film, which is not very well known). Update: checked a bit on line, and Rawlings says she did indeed name the character in her books after the poet.
