Mia Farrow used to be really naturally beautiful up until her early-mid 30's but she looked different and not beautiful anymore afterwards,and she was really beautiful in this film and a still picture from this movie was used on the first cover of people Magazine in March 1974 and Mia looks really beautiful.

Yeah, Myrtle was ugly. If you're going to cheat you might as well tap Jordan. She was perfection in this movie.

Tom would never go after Jordan. She wasn't weak. And he likes weak women.

Not only that, Jordan was of his class and standing. They traveled in the same circles. he needed a woman whom no one would know and whom he could control. Daisy was a mindless twit, which got on his nerves, but he married her anyway. Partly for gain (although he was rich too) and partly because he knew he could do as he pleased and even if she found out, she'd never day anything.

Interesting you think that way because at the time, Karen Black was considered a heartbreaker.

Tom wanted Myrtle because she was she was someone he could feel superior too, someone he could use and was slavishly devoted to him.

I think Tom was attracted to Myrtle because she was dependent on him. Also, maybe he and Daisy weren't getting it on anymore:)

Tom is a mean, vulgar-minded man who married in a manner appropriate to his class but needed a more like-minded woman as mistress to fornicate with, push around, and feel superior to. The casting in this 70s version exaggerates that contrast, but is true to the novel's essence.

True she looked like man when they were doing the close ups .I guess thats what guys do they cheat on lesser attractive women than the ones they got .

Apparently Karen Black was extremely HOT and sexy .... and Mia Farrow not so much ! She gave with her performance the impression that she was much more exciting in bed than his wife ... Last but not least she gave in this film the strongest performance.
