OK, so i just saw this for the first time....!!! Wht didn't i know about this film before. Awesome...!!!
Anyway, in the trivia section on here, the car apparently jumps 30 feet in the air and flys a distance of 128 feet...!!!!! When you watch the film, the car can clearly be seen to be no higher than maybe 6 feet off the ground at a push. So is the trivia wrong...?

shareHe was, and I'm thinking that's what's accounting for the 30 ft listing. Since I'm the sinner that I am, I saw the remake first so I had no idea the jump was coming since I thought the jump was going to happen on the bridge (like the $#!tty CGI jump in the remake). The thing I like about the original jump is that it appeared without really letting you know a jump was coming (and it was really filmed) wheras the new one made a big deal out of the jump, staging it and drawing it out only to get a CGI jump.
Just my one cent since I can't afford two.
