Did the senator get the years wrong?

The killing of McCluskey and Solozzo, was it 1946 or 1947? I thought it was 1946 but the senator said 1947. And the killings of the five families heads? it was 1955 but the senator said 1950 (i'm pretty sure he said 1950 not 1950s). So technically Michael did not lie when asked whether he killed McCluskey and Solozzo in 1947.

Yeah, they got it wrong. The Don is shot just before Christmas, 1945, and Michael shoots McCluskey and Sollozzo a couple of weeks later at the beginning of 1946.

We need a lawyer's opinion. Would the factual mistakes in the question count as a defence against perjury?

The chronology of the movies has always been their weakest point. Among other things:

* Vito's birth year differs from his tombstone in GF1 to the prologue of GF2.

* As already pointed out, the years given at the senate hearing contradict the dates given in GF1-- again, Vito's tombstone indicates that GF1 ends in 1955

* The radio broadcast on Sonny's car when he dies places his assassination in 1948, leaving a huge gap in the narrative and potentially stranding Michael in Sicily for several unaccounted for years

I always said Michael WAS telling the truth when the questions were asked to him because of the mistake in the years, LOL
