Nobody seems to be sure of who killed the assassins that attempted to kill Michael. Not that it really matters, but I'm just realizing this after seeing this movie countless times. Fredo's wife frantically screams when she sees the two bodies, so it's implied that she is the first to notice them. How did she notice them first? Maybe, just maybe... Fredo killed them.
I don't exactly buy it either, but it's interesting that Fredo's wife finds them, don't you think?
Ive always felt Rocco killed them. Some have suggested that rocco was also involved in the murder plot which is why he has no problem going on a suicide mission to kill Roth at the end of Part 2. Maybe he felt he owed it to Mike because he betrayed him

shareYou could go very far with this theory. Even imagining that Deanna's provocative dance and the way she insulted Fredo was just an act, so Michael would tell Rocco to take care of her, and who knows what Rocco did after the incident.
