I need HELP something serious.........

I'm looking for a movie, I'm almost positive it was made in the mid 70's. I thought JAMES CAAN played the main character, but after renting about half a dozen movies with him as the lead and not finding it I'm not sure anymore.
The one element I'm positive about in the movie I'm looking for, is in the last scene of this movie an old mustang is driving head on towards another car and they are shooting at each other all the way...........I thought it was the Gambler, but I was wrong
Anybody help........anyone

I believe your talking about Bullet with Steve McQueen.

Nope it wasn't bullet. I have seen this movie many times and its not it.
Plus..........The very first car I owed was a 68 charger, and I'd remember this above all.........
I'm tried "Thief, 1981 with Cann" And nope this wasn't it either.........If I could get my hands on a copy of the 1971 version of the same name I'd try it..........but no luck..........
Same thing with Freebie and the bean.............can't find it anywhere.....
will let you all know..........

Just saw Freebie and The Bean. Here is a screenshot of the ending right before credits roll. http://i.imgur.com/brpIOu4.png

Freebie and The Bean did always drive a different Ford sedan in their chases and there was a car to car shoot out. Here is a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/2SS7JZG.png

Otherwise you can try a search on the Internet Movie Cars Database and see if there is a hit: http://www.imcdb.org/search.php

I beleive the movie your thinking of is "the thief" also starring James Belushi.

reply

I believe the title is just "Thief" a great Michael Mann flick.

The movie you are thinking of with the head on collision near the end of the movie is James Caan and Alan Arkin in Freebie and the Bean. Hope this helped.

If I remember, the last scene in "The Gambler" is when James Caan gets his face cut by a pimp; the only injury he got after being WAAAY in debt to the mob!

The only person to ever celebrate Valentines Day correctly was Al Capone!

Your description is very similar to a FANTASTIC book by Paul Auster called "The Music of Chance." Similarly it has major themes of major gambling and deep/strange recovery from big financial losses. I strongly recommend it (it is also a movie though I haven't seen it). Check it out and let me know what you think.
