Fortune Cookie Vs. Front Page?

I emideitly got totally hooked on all Jack Lemmon/Walter Matthau movies i saw except this and "Fortune Cookie", not that those 2 aren't funny. But i found the other Lemmon/Matthau movies to be like the funniest comedys ever.

lucy,
i get pleased by lucy,
and for that you can accuse me,
lucy is like a light that never goes out,
she sneaks up like an angel of the night,
lucy shows up in the summer evening,
and stays around, while the sun goes down,
untill it's time for a night cap and dreaming,
lucy, i get pleased by lucy,
and for that you can accuse me.
lucy is the tastiest apple on the tree,
she lights up like the sun and buzzez like the honey bee,
lucy makes the air more fresh and the gras more green,
she brightens up the place and melts me like an icecream,
yes, that's lucy.

It's been almost 2 years but I'd say The Front Page is better if not for the reply value. Fortune Cookie after you've seen it the gag is pretty much up, it's about the ride and the anticipation of how the story will unfold, once you know that at least to me the reply value is diminished a lot.

I prefer The Front Page. While I initially watched it to see Lemmon and Matthau, I found myself liking and getting plenty of laughs from many of the other characters as well. Those two were still the stars, but many of the supporting characters were interesting and entertaining enough for me to care about what happened to them. Thus, the overall experience was richer and more enjoyable, as has been the case with some of my other favorite Lemmon/Matthau movies (e.g., The Odd Couple, both Grumpy Old Men movies).

On the other hand, I also initially watched The Fortune Cookie to see Lemmon and Matthau, and that pretty much remained my reason for watching throughout the movie. That's not to say it was a bad movie, but it was neither as interesting or entertaining as I had hoped. Of the 8 Lemmon/Matthau movies I have seen, The Fortune Cookie ranks 7th (above only Buddy Buddy).

I love both movies, and I pull out my DVDs of them to watch from time to time to watch.
