movie is good but her reading the tarrot cards so accuretly was little over the top coz it made her not only a cannibal but also an excellent psychic!! doesnt that in a way prove that her mental faculties were working - or maybe were better than most of us?
shareTotally agree with you Sarah - I thought it was done to show up Graham for the fraudulant reason for the visit but it also gave the impression that Dorothy knew exactly what she was doing. Actually, the other readings seemed to be accurate judging by the reactions of the readee(?) so maybe she was fooling the authorities all the time

sharei dont have a problem with her performance, which was good, but if she is able to read the cards so accurately then that means her mind is working normally and I dont think any normal person would kill and eat a human being.

I can't help but feel you are over simplifying and confusing a number of issues sarahllsjones.
By virtue of possessing psychopathic tendencies, being a cannibal etc does not necessarily mean that your mental faculties 'aren't working' The fact that this may give you a very skewed outlook on life is one thing but it doesn't necessarily bear any relationship to intelligence levels, cognitive functioning etc.
To make a sweeping statement, most people who would pay to visit a stranger to have a tarot reading are either very desperate or/and very gullible. Therefore, as shown in the film, one could tell them any old guff in a generalist sense and most times it would be interpreted by the client as a meaningful insight. It wasn't that the reader was psychic in any way (she wasn't) it was the respondents who took quite standard statements (e.g a relationship of yours has recently finished) and gave them too much validity.
A lot of psychopaths are very cunning and devious individuals. It is how they create their opportunities.
I just wonder if anyone discovered those bodies in the barn and if the couple were eventually caught. If not, just think those bodies would remain in the barn forever.
