I just rewatched it and was once again amazed at the complexity of insane car and foot chases. George Miller had it easy shooting the new Mad Max compared to the motorcycle and van chase with hundreds of extras jumping out of the way with split second precision. Plus Valerie Harper never looked hotter.
shareI watched it a few days ago and I was absolutely blown away by those crazy, inventive chase scenes! Even after they crash, they just keep going with James Caan grabbing that motorcycle and then the fight in the restaurant kitchen!
Great movie. Criminally under-rated.
I hear Alan Arkin wasn't thrilled with it but I'm so glad he did it. It would have been just another 1970s cop movie without him. Instead it's a 1970s classic.
