If they were to remake this and Coffy...

who would you want to be involved?

Foxy Brown:
Director: David Fincher
Writers: Steven Zaillian worked with Fincher on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Jim Uhls worked with Fincher on Fight Club
Actress: Naturi Naughton

Coffy:
The team behind Taken:
Director: Pierre Morel
Writers: Luc Besson, Robert Mark Kamen
Actress: Serena Reeder

I think either team could make a timely movie out of the source material that wouldn't just be a rehash of the old movie.

For me, not only these two movies are much too linked to their period to be remade but also Pam Grier simply cannot be replaced.
When an actress/actor are that mixed with their legendary characters, it's never a good idea to do remakes.
Even if Coffy and Foxy Brown aren't perfect, they're essential in cinema history - and so is the one and only Pam Grier ^_^

No offense but those are terrible crews for this type of movie.
But why bother anyway? This push to remake everything is just encouraging the hollywood scumbags who want to throw together garbage and fling it upon the public.

Better to make new films and new stories and cast Pam Grier. She could still do it. There is absolutely no one among the younger starlets that could pull it off. They all lack the crucial combination of cool, tough, class and beauty. They'd all be trying on this role 5 sizes too big for them.

There should NEVER be a remake of either movie! Pam Grier is the only woman in history (past, present, and future) that was meant to play those roles.

Luc Besson? Pierre Morel?

Sorry but these people don't know how to do good movies. So it's a really bad idea.
