Is this a happy ending

I don't know I couldn't make it out

The litter of corpses is possibly a clue.

Yea I know but for Joe dandiwhatever did he survive of did the children take after their father and decide to make him a super zombie

reply

I think the implication was that the children would follow in their parents' footsteps and the whole cycle would start again - the incest as much as the zombie-creating.

I took it that Joe D would be stripped for parts, as it were.

On that level it's a very grim ending, but then the Hamlet-esque tableau of corpses is hard not to laugh at, and Udo with heart out on the end of a spike in 3D must have been hysterical. So it's grim and deeply silly at the same time. Which is perhaps a bit unsettling in itself...

I've always interpreted it as an unhappy ending. Where everyone but the kids dies.

No.

His dreams of creating a male and female zombie that would mate and make him an army of beings that would take over the world failed.

It's about as sad as an ending can get.
