soundtrack was garbage except 1 or 2 tracks

Downloaded the soundtrack and jesus it was weird. For ennio morricone i was dissappointed. it was maybe twenty something tracks of the same song or two over and over. many of them were like he just banged random notes on an organ. and im not saying soundtracks necessarily need to be "good" listening music, it was just a weird thing that they would basically repeat tracks over and over.

Yeah, the first two tracks are superb, but then it's just like Ennio lost interest and just grinded out some organ music without orchestration. Perhaps he disliked the film, ran out of time, etc. Who knows what the reason was.

The music was only used a couple of times in the movie. Morricone composed a number of variations, usable in different scenes. Most pieces never made it to the movie, but the recordings were released on dvd. So its not really a soundtrack cd, but more a recording session.

Does the soundtrack contain the piece played during the knife duel on the mountain? I bought a DVD of this movie simply because of the music used in that particular scene, but the scene is quite disappointingly absent in the DVD. I have listened to some previews of the soundtrack from Amazon and it seems that the piece isn't featured on the soundtracks either. I'm definitely not buying any soundtrack unless I know for sure that the piece is included in it.
