I'm pretty sure it is, and I don't even know what it means.

it is pretty much is the best title ever. it's tough to translate but i'll take a shot at it: Fontane (the author of the book the film is based on) - Effi Briest (the title of the book) or: Many who have a notion of their abilities and needs and nevertheless accept the current regime in their minds through their deeds and therefore stabilize and pretty much affirm it
the syntax is bad on purpose because it's the same in the german title.
