Who were the three morons harassing Jody?

Watched this movie a thousand times but never got why Jody was living with those three mocking guys. Were they usurers or owners of his house?
Another thing I really don't get is why Jody wore a wig instead of cutting his hair as you can see at the end of the movie.

I think that they were just living in the same building but not the same room. I might be wrong. As to the wig that's anyone's guess.

Thanks cyprus.

Part of the movie's innate "charm".🐭

One of them was Elvis Presley!

They lived in the same house, but not the same room, from what I can see. "A lot of guys with hair over regulation wear them.", he said to Rosa. When he finished his service, he could take the wig off and go back to his regular hair length. If he cut his hair, it would take a long time for his hair to get to that length again.

Why was a supermarket manager living in a bedsit in a run-down area, surely he could have afforded to live somewhere much better?

reply

Maybe he first moved there before he got the job. Then he hadn't gotten around to moving somewhere else yet.

Was he a manager? I thought I saw him working the check-out line. Managers in stores like that don't usually do that, they just hover over the workers and tell them no matter how fast they are, it's not fast enough.

reply

I don't think there's any doubt that he is a manager, he is seen ordering staff around and when a cashier refuses to allow Rosa credit he overrules her and says it's okay for her to pay the difference next time.

Also I've seen the manager at my local supermarket working on the check out, not very often but on occasion.

I must have missed or forgotten that part.

But I still have never seen managers working the cash registers. Maybe it's a regional thing.

Where's them free cantaloupes, Jody?!

Three characters designed for the express purpose of using the world "Fag" over and over again.

My reaction was “doesn’t anybody work in this town?” So many louts just hanging out midday in this film. The louts harrassing Jody were residents of his boarding house. As he’s heading to his car, dodging the cabbage heads being tossed at him, you can see a sign that reads “Rooms to Rent. Daily, weekly, monthly” on the door. It looks like a halfway house for ex cons and drifters.
