She was a white girl with complexion on the dark side, so she gave off the appearance as being black. One time my mom thought a newslady on tv was black, and then my dad said she was a Jewish gal with a dark complexion.

I got the impression she and her brother were supposed to be Italian. She was just wearing an afro wig. For some reason this movie had a thing about wigs.🤷‍♀️

She was Italian. People wore large afros in the 1970s. I thought she looked great with her afro wig.
