Appalling acting from George and Fonda.

Amateur hour.

You`re my wife now.

It's a low budget stock car movie. You watch it for the cars not the interpersonal drama. Watching it for the dialogue is like watching Ron Jeremy for the dialogue!

reply

Exactly!!! I don't think the acting is that bad, but who cares, some of the best REAL (Not CGI) car chases and helicopter/car chase ever!!!!

reply

The (written) dialogue is really stupid, and they couldn't fix it no matter how good their acting might have been.

But as someone above said, this isn't the kind of movie worth analyzing the dialogue over. Great car chases, a few good one liners, the late, great Vic Morrow, and a killer ending....plenty good enough for what was intended.

reply

Their acting was poor tho, you're right.

Well, it's too bad you weren't there to take their places.

I had the displeasure of watching this the other night. Fonda was still riding high in Hollywood from easy rider. So they threw money at him and basically make any movie. Here is what the movie is basically. Two guys acting tough and making wise cracks, driving around in a fast car doing stunts. Toss in a gal with lose morals and also makes wise cracks.

They were probably stoned the whole time, being stoned makes everything taste better, almost everything...

Ephemeron.

Susan was struggling with the accent and it affected her performance somewhat. Just seeing her beautful face on screen was enough for me though.
