Here's the uncut brain/eye sequence

I was quite upset to hear that the MGM DVD had this bit cut, but after watching it, I really don't think that the story, or anything for that matter, suffered from it being cut. With the exception of the brain scooping, it looked incredibly fake.

I don't think it really matters whether the gore FX looked fake or not. It's the fact the film had the scene removed by the censors that bothers me. I like to see films in their entirety, especially when the make-up FX have been provided by the legendary Tom Savini. Thankfully, those who want to, can now see the gore re-inserted back into the movie.
