I wasn't expecting much after the narration began- but I was pleasantly surprised. I wish I had seen this as a kid in the 70s- it would've scared the crap outta me! Not so much as an adult, but still very well done.

Yes, it takes a lot to scare me as an adult, and generally movies don't do it anymore. But this was a solid effort and rather groundbreaking in its themes and gore. I have to say I found the narration a bit distracting, especially when the narrator appears in the scenes.

Count me as a huge fan! This is one of the best horror movies of the '70s. Love that decadent, sleazy atmosphere. Great performances all over.

The scene where Mary sees Ezra sitting in a chair dressed up as one of the woman's corpses is a genuinely creepy moment and one of many great scenes in this film. I'm so glad I decided to buy a copy. It's just the kind of horror movie I've been waiting to find for a very long time.

This movie is what independent film is all about. Made far, far away from Hollywood for a very small amount of money. The church organ all by itself transports you to small town America. This movie is a great test for your friends to see whether or not they appreciate REAL independent cinema.

This is a great film, one of those one in a thousand that really hit a spot. Roberts Blossom was perfectly cast. Bob Clark and Alan Ormsby together knew.
YES I am a fan of this movie. I had to go through a lot of trouble to get the brain scoop scene on a dvd many years ago. I think today it's probably easy now to get.
