Can anyone recommend similar feeling-of-dread films?

I love the feeling of this movie. I hate happy endings in horror flicks.

Other films I like:
Lemora
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (original)
Sinister
The Ring (original)
Lots more.

Can anyone suggest more?

Although it’s a different kind of film, 1979’s Phantasm also has a dreamlike feel, with a nice sense of building dread. Another movie that came to mind was 1962’s The Cabinet of Caligari. That weird vibe is present, and it does keep you wondering about exactly what is going on (at least on the first viewing).

Messiah of Evil is a very strange film, and it’s better because of it. Leaving most things unanswered only adds to the creepiness.
