2007-02-23 Hi! YUP, I do. It´s been quite a while since you posted this and I never thought about looking closer....sorry. I´ve had this since around 1987-1989 I guess, through FilmNet (at the time...through TNT...now TCM) >with swedish subtitles<.
I like this very much, an excellent flick for us who love the beautiful old birds, like here, the DC-3/Dakota (they certainly don´t make ´em like that anymore - period) Kees Brusse is perfect in his part as the loner, to his Dakota dedicated flier. This has to be viewed. Of course also the beautiful scenery from the carribean and the bird itself. Shot in Cinemascope.

Hello sm0byd,
when googling the web about Wim Versappens movie 'Dakota' from 1974, I was glad to find your message. Glad, because Dakota is one of my favourite movies. As I saw the movie the first time, I was 20-year old, had already my PPL-A (private-pilot-licence) and began to search for model-kits of DC-3 and the possibility of flying that plane myself. In a nut-shell: I was impressed by that story and those pictures and Kees Brusse acting as the perfect pilot I wanted to be myself ...
So I'm still looking for a copy of that movies and also the script, the screenplay.
And I try to manage that flying route in 'Dakota' with my 'Flight-Planner' and 'Google-Earth'.
It would be very nice of you contacting me, because of a copy of that movie.
Kind regards

Hello everyone,

My father saw this movie when he was a young man and was never able to find or see it again - still he's talking about it all the time. Now, for his 60th birthday, I'm trying to get my hands on a copy of this movie for a private showing.
Does anyone have an idea where to get (or buy) a copy of the movie?

Thanks in advance,
Tobias
