Sharon Stone played Cybill in a movie about this movie

rent IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES with drew barrymoore playing a hollywood kid of a filmmaker and she divorces her parents

the film is based on peter bogdonavitch and his first wife

sharon stone plays the hot blonde actress based on cybill sheperd

ryan o neal plays bogdonavitch and is a hit filmmaker and then he and sharon, ie, peter and cybill, after making a hit, ie, last picture show, decide to make a musical based on 'gone with the wind' called atlanta, and it's a big budget bomb, this is based on 'daisy miller'.

it's hilarious to see bogdonavitch's career fade like it did in real life

the poor guy had it all, and lost it all, twice

for blondes

at any rate, bogdanovich has made some remarkable films, and it seems a bit cold to find a riches to rags story 'hilarious', though i suppose i see the humor in it. at any rate, he still has a good career as an essayist, a critic, and a director - so i wouldn't say he 'lost it all' - just the trophy wife. this thread reminds me of how people talk about michael cimino... or peckinpah. someone should start looking at the producers and the financiers of films, rather than pointing the fingers always at the 'troublemaker' directors. look at these drunken, mob-courting, whoremongering jerks coming in with calculators and 'better ideas' and 'workshopped demographics. puke. i'd much rather laugh at some cheese monkey like robert evans.

It's hilarious because the film, Irreconcilable Differences, is a comedy....and a funny one, at that. I think that is what the other poster meant when he said it was hilarious.

Sharon Stone is actually GOOD in Irreconcilable Differences.

It took her a looooooooooooooong time to hit her stride again.
