Delightful, often funny, sometimes quite moving. The great Madge Sinclair is magisterial. Hume Cronyn is perfect as Conrack's bete noire. The kids are terrific.
And then there's Voight's performance. A perfect example of a superb actor fully embodying the role at hand. I've seen most of Voight's work on film, and have also seen "Conrack" many times. Yet he isn't immediately recognizable here, because he disappears into the part:)--
