confessions series.....

Does anyone know which confessions movie had a scene with Askwith falling into a tub with a blonde older woman (Jayne Mansfield lookalike)?????

reply

That was Confessions of a Driving Instructor

The scene featured Robin Askwith and British comedy actress Liz Fraser, I remember it vaguely.

That particular film is showing in the UK on Channel 5 on Friday 16th September 2005 at 12.20am.

Hope this helps.

I wish this series was on DVD, in the United States. They were hilarious and sexy! I especially liked "Confessions of a Window Cleaner". I saw them on Cable TV, back when I was a teen-ager! If they are on DVD or VHS, where can I buy them?

The series (all 4 films - Window Cleaner/Holiday Camp/Pop Performer/Driving Instructor) is on DVD in UK Region 2 in a boxset. The set is currently selling at around $20.00 on Play.com. You'll need an all region or hacked DVD player to view them. Box says the films are in widescreen but actually they are fullscreen. They are fun.

I've just bought the Reigon 2 box set today. It's terrible, trashy smut I know, but it's also pretty funny stuff and if anything quite an authentic document of its time.

Depending on what you're expecting from these type of movies, I do find them quite fun and sexy to watch.

I realise the acting and stories are total nonsense, but they are definitely a product of their time. All these type of films come recommended!

hi they are typical british comedy films with certain jokes and stuff and Robin Askwith plays the bumbling lead greatly and he is certianly accident prone

Even though the series appears on late-night TV occasionally (very occasionally), I would strongly urge buying the DVD set rather than relying on broadcast screenings.

The last time I saw the movies on TV in the U.K. they had been badly hacked, especially Confessions from A Holiday Camp. No, it wasn't to censor the "naughty" scenes; it was clearly one of the "PC" nuts who had been let loose in the editing suite.

It's annoying that the DVD boxset has no extras. Robin Askwith and Greg Smith (the producer) were happy to do commentaries but apparently the executives (25 year olds in suits, according to Askwith) didn't think they'd be necessary. What an awful decision!!!!!!!

"Holiday Camp" has some rather dodgy racial humour from Colin Crompton, which some folk would probably be up in arms about.

What does that matter?

I agree. Who gives a shit? If you're looking to be offended and watch near anything from the 70's, you'll get your wish. Movies are products of their time.
