Do I Remember Correctly?

I saw this in the theater when I was 5. Did not this play out as a "slasher" film, only to show all the supposed victims of the bats and whatnot to emerge battered and bruised at the end?

Still, the concept was great, and I would love to plagiarize the idea to relate to some contemporary, impending disaster such as globl warming or a solar flare.

Bump. Because this is getting buried under the avalanche of posts in here.

I wouldn't say "slasher" film but it did revert to the standard "nature amok" type of film of the seventies. In the end about half of the characters did get killed by the bats. The bruised survivors are escorted out by the military. The whole set-up of the secret underground bunker does call out for a remake. I'm surprised there haven't been any similar films in the past couple of decades.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm surprised that Hollywood, what with its recent love for remakes, hasn't tapped into the genre thrillers of the 70s all that much.

For that we can be thankful!
