Is this movie public domain now?

I bought a bad copy from ebay (grainy, poor sound,) but better than nothing. The auction mentioned that this film is not subject to copyright law any longer. Is this true? And if it is, I guess we who have it could distribute it via peer to peer legally? Any info would be appreciated.

I don't know about it's patent status, but I got a pretty good copy of it (relative to my prevous copy). Audio/Video is very good; the source, however, is a scratchy 16mm film, which seems to be the case for all the videos I've seen of it. I can send you a copy if you want.:)

Try www.horrortheatervideo.com. They have a very decent bootleg print of this movie. You might want to wait until it eventually comes out on legitimate DVD though because it's a very good movie and well worth owning.

Throw away your bootleg. Fox Video will be releasing this on DVD as a double feature with Terence Fisher's THE EARTH DIES SCREAMING on September 11th.

The BluRay is available to order on Amazon. It releases this week Oct 4, 2016. Psyched to finally see this movie again - 40 some odd years after it scared the bejeezus outta me.
