IMDB lists this movie as being 130 minutes, however the print I saw clocked in at just over 90 minutes. Could this be an error? I did think the print I saw had been edited; there seemed to be a lot of interaction between the characters that was missing. For instance, several of them had become "couples" during their stay in the bomb shelter, but not once did I see a scene where any of them hooked up, they were just suddenly sharing rooms!
shareThe copy I saw ran for 93 minutes. The 130 minutes data is either a goof or indication of a longer cut (such as with The Assissi Underground and some others).

My guess is that there is a more complete version of the film out there than we have seen. Most of the copies that are circulating on bootleg video have been taken from 16mm prints of the film, such as used to be circulated in schools. I think they may have been edited for content in some way. I can only hope one day this "lost" film gets discovered again, and released in a proper home video format.

shareThe DVD from Fox Video (a double feature with Terence Fisher's THE EARTH DIES SCREAMING) runs a little over 98 minutes. The print is beautiful, though there is still no explanation for the "couples" hooking up.

shareIt's an error. Saw this in the theaters when it was first released. Everything seemed to be in tact. Somebody pointed out about the people doubling up to be couples, and that is abrupt, but not due to chopped out footage. I can't imagine this going on any long than 90 minutes anyway. They seem to tell their story in enough time, though couple issue could have been developed a little more.
shareThis is an error. I actually saw this film in the theater back in 1974 and I had a vhs tape made from a 16 mm print in 2001. I then bought the DVD and now the Blu Ray. The film was approx. 1 hour and 38 minutes and is the same version that has always been available.
