The proposed "Cloverfield"

Is anyone sort of intrigued by the proposed last chapter in the "Chinatown" trilogy? The "Cloverfield" film, supposed to be about the LA highway system. I know that it probably wouldn't have matched "Chinatown"(much like "The Two Jakes" didn't) - but I'm still sort of intrigued as to how it would have turned out. Hell - maybe even allowing Polanski to direct it. That would have been interesting.

Maybe in a sense, 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' is the 'lost interpretation' of that film.

After all, Doom's city council plan 'of epic proportions,' wended its way through that film like the water plot of Chinatown.

"Thanks, guys." "So long, partner."

Yeah, Roger Rabbit does take a lot of inspiration from "Chinatown" and of course - the motorway plot is in that.

I read somewhere that the final film was to be called "Gittes V Gittes" and deal with Jake's divorce.

Forget it Jake, it's Chinatown.
