This score, the greatest film score in the history of cinema, was not only composed in 10 days, it was recorded one week before the film was released, literally saving the film.

Roman Polanski certainly does not deserve more credit for the success of Chinatown than Jerry Goldsmith, Sam O'Steen, and John C. Hammell.

My all time favorite film score. I need to get this.

Forget it Jake, it's Chinatown.

Chinatown is clearly one of the 10 greatest film scores of all time. I go on and on about it but its the truth.

It's obviously brilliant but also very innovative and influential, fusing a bluesy trumpet melody with avant-garde string and piano effects and serving as a clear inspiration for notable scores like Taxi Driver, Body Heat, Farewell, My Lovely and LA Confidential and other neo noir scores.

It's all the more unbelievable and impressive that it was composed in 10 days and recorded one week before the film's release yet is in perfect harmony with its film as any in cinema.
