Blade

Did Blade rip this film off ? Just curious. Cos this was made in 74 long before Blade.

The character of Blade first appeared in the Marvel Comic book series Tomb of Dracula in the early-to-mid Seventies, but I doubt he was based on Kronos. As originally depicted in the comic book, he was basically Shaft reimagined as a vampire hunter.

As a whole, Blade was not a Kronos rip off. The comics he originally appeared in, Tomb Of Dracula, ran during the 70s and may have had some inspiration taken from the Hammer films, but was concurrent enough to have had its own originality. However, there is an interview by David S. Goyer on the first Blade DVD, where he mentions Captain Kronos as his inspiration for the way he approached the relationship between Blade and Whistler. And when you look at the two side by side, you can see that very similar dynamic between the handsome loner swordsman, and his wise, more personable mentor/assistant.
