Who thinks this movie is influential?

I mean it inspired Buffy, Blade (the movies), Van Helsing, John Carpenter's Vampires, and more even Castlevania games.

Apparently Quentin Tarantino is a big fan of Kronos!!!

Yes absolutely but really if you look really hard at it it is quite derivative of the Van Helsing character in Dracula. Also Robert E. Howards character Solomon Kane.

Its definitely inspired many later works.

I can believe Solomon Kane was part of its own inspiration, but Van Helsing was not a vampire hunter--no one in Dracula was. Van Helsing, above all other characters, rose to the occasion, though. He did actually get in the killing stab, as well.

If it is influential, I can certainly see why it is. If I were going to make a vampire movie, this would be exactly the kind of vampire movie I would like to make.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.

On Hammer Films' webpage for this film, they state that the film is one of Peter Jackson's all time favourite films. He even remade it on Super 8 film when he was a child. So, I would imagine it played a part, influencing his career as a director.

Well, I definitely feel that the characters of Paul and Sara Durward influenced the (ahem!) overly fraternal twins of CRIMSON PEAK. And Professor Grost is as much like the Donald Pleasence version of Dr. Loomis as Peter Cushing's Dr. Van Helsing!
