I recently picked up, online, the unofficial widescreen DVD of The Town That Dreaded Sundown and received, as a bonus, a DVD of Buster And Billie, which I'd never seen before. Having just finished watching it, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at just how engaging this forgotten gem turned out to be. Kind of nice for a 'freebie' DVD.

Yeah this is a surprisingly good film. I saw it years ago when I was a tween. My mom had rented it and I was shocked at how explicit it was. It's been etched in my memory still, and I haven't even watched it in 10+ years!

Should go on DVD. I'd buy a copy.

I saw this movie many years ago and I remember it being good. Definitely DVD material. I'd buy it.

Columbia should have released it in their Martini Movies series. I still haven't figured out what a "martini movie" is. One movie that they did release was The Pursuit of Happiness (1971), a movie I remember from my childhood that I was afraid wouldn't make it to DVD.

I'd buy the DVD as well. I saw this a long time ago but I do remember it was very good.

I was working at a theater when some under-aged girls came to see it. We weren't allowed to sell them tickets. They asked someone in line to buy tickets for them and snuck in. When it was over they made the mistake of calling a mom to come pick them up. The mom threw a fit at the box office because the girls had been allowed in to see such filth. When the girls admitted what they had done, mom was speechless.

I always will remember that, because when I saw the film, I didn't think it was that filthy. I thought it was handled pretty well and was very touching. I'd like to see it again.

It might be that Columbia doesn't own the rights anymore. This film was independently made. Columbia had distribution rights.

Now what also could be holding up the rights is MUSIC CLEARANCE. Music rights has held up many things from being released on DVD
