One of the most joyfully stupid movies I've ever seen

i loved almost every minute of it. seen as a comedy, it's non-stop zaniness, with some of the worst dialogue i've ever heard, and i'm a coleman francis officianado! the poor acting/dubbing just take it over the top.

as a horror film: 4/10

as a comedy : 9/10

average: 6.5/10

"Rampart: Squad 51."

I just caught this on MONSTERS HD. There were some real gems in the dubbed dialog and I wish I could remember them all. I do remember my favorite line though, from the girl who waited for awhile in the boat on the side of the ship; "There's an abandoned ship here, its really scary."

reply

Not quite as funny as the Passion of the Christ, but then it didn't have as many mutilations. And yes, Coleman Francis is one of the immortals.

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.

Agreed--I remember watching this on Night Flight back in the 80s. I loved the skeletons with goatees and the ending when the flames on the ship were as tall as the masts. Great fun!

Yeah.. This was grade Z schlock from the word go, but it's still a fun movie! The only gripe I have is that the dubbing & the voices were SO BAD, it kinda detractd my attention from the story... I think I'd rather have sub-titles.
But.. It ain't all bad.

Trust me,

When there's no more room in hell, The dead will walk the earth...

It could've been so much better if only the budget been over one dollar.

"I'm Howard Tucker, as you no doubt know, the sporting goods magnate."

The scene where the people on the ship open that closed double door and the skeleton falls out had me in stitches!
