Seriously, why do so many like it? It's pretty dull and that has to be one of the weirdest attempted rape scenes ever. Looks like she wanted it. Overrated crap.
shareWell, I like how it balances being dingy and squalid with being profoundly touching and funny. And it's got itself a peerless antihero in Warren Oates.
I know people who don't like this movie (and Peckinpah, period) but calling it "overrated crap" is an object lesson in why IMDb forums often constitute the bottom of the barrel with respect to film criticism; in no way is this film crap.
And fulcifan? I enjoy some of Fulci's work, but you've got to admit that even his most respected films (Zombi, for example) contain sections that are duller than a dog's arse -- or certainly anything in BMTHOAG.
