The daughter in the beginning

Did they stab her in the stomach killer her baby? or fetus? I know they do something but and I thought that might be it but wasn't sure. Anyone?

They just twisted her arms backwards.

You can hear them break her arm.

Actually I think they popped her arm out of the socket. The doctor comes over after and puts it back in place.
