Possible widescreen version with restored picture and sound? NBC?
This film looks like it ws shot in 35 mm, yet because it was a TV movie it has always only been seen in the 4:3 aspect ratio. I think this is a really interesting and gripping film that has been highly ignored, yet shown plenty over the years. The current DVD version shows obvious fading, speckles and age as does the audio, sounding somewhat muffled and hollow. This movie would really benefit from a restoration, if the original negative can be found, and a widescreen transfer. It would also be interesting to see a reflective documentary from the girls and other actors and actresses involved. I think the controversy surrounding its airing, because of shocking scenes, would be really great to see covered. Commentary tracks are now common so that would be a great addition too. I'm just curious as to how many people out there would like to see this happen?
