Has anyone noticed...

How the finale of this film bears a striking resemblance to the film 'Over the Edge', which was made about four years later?

That struck me upon watching it and apparently Nora Heflin is the sister of OTE director Jonathan Kaplan! She appeared in a bunch of his films (though not OTE!).
